What is Catch, Photo, Release?
It's about conservation Musky fish are the top of the lake food chain. They're intelligent, quick, and big, and more than that, they are fun to catch. Musky are so fun to catch, in fact, that if it weren't for the philosophy of Catch, Photo, and Release (or CPR as it's often called), Madison area and northern Wisconsin lakes might not have enough musky to keep even the most casual musky hunter occupied.
A simple philosophy The CPR philosophy is very simple. When you catch your trophy-sized musky with Matt Polman, you take a photo, then release the fish back into the lake where it can continue to grow and provide a new opportunity for your next musky fishing adventure.
Everyone wins If you were hoping to bring home a mounted trophy to display your prowess on the lake, don't worry. Many local taxidermists can make a realistic graphite reproduction of your catch that is suitable for display in any room of the home.
